On 30 January 2018, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Mr Zahir Tanin, met with Albania's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mr Ditmir Bushati, in Tirana. The visit was part of SRSG Tanin’s engagement with key stakeholders related to the Mission’s mandate in advance of his presentation on Kosovo to the UN Security Council in February.

Foreign Minister Bushati and SRSG Tanin discussed a number of issues including recent developments in Kosovo and the region.

While in Tirana, SRSG Tanin met the Director General for Political and Strategic Affairs, Mr Ferit Hoxha, and Mr Brian J. Williams, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Albania.
