SRSG Tanin meets Serbian Prime Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, met with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, on 2 February 2018.  The meeting took place in advance of the Security Council session on Kosovo scheduled for 7 February.

As part of his regular consultations with stakeholders in Belgrade, SRSG Tanin also met the Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ivica Dačić; Serbia’s Director of the Office for Kosovo, Marko Đurić; and diplomatic representatives.

During the meetings the SRSG exchanged views with his interlocutors on a variety of issues including recent political and security developments, the EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and the upcoming Secretary-General’s report to the Security Council.

While in Belgrade the SRSG also met Patriarch Irinej, the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and discussed cultural heritage in Kosovo as well as the role and concerns of the church.
