On 27 November 2019, Zahir Tanin, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, met Major General Michele Risi, the new Commander of KFOR, at UNMIK Headquarters.

SRSG Tanin reiterated the importance of continued close working relations and cooperation between UNMIK and KFOR to support the implementation of both organisations’ shared goals of peace, stability and security in Kosovo. 

Major General Risi and SRSG Tanin exchanged views on recent political developments and the security situation in Kosovo, and agreed to continue to work together, maintain regular communication and ensure close coordination of efforts.
