The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of UNMIK, Caroline Ziadeh, welcomed the incoming KFOR Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani, in a ceremonial military salute at UNMIK Headquarters today.

In their meeting, the SRSG and Major General Barduani exchanged views on the current situation in Kosovo and the wider region. They underscored the critical importance of strengthening cohesion and cooperation to ensure lasting peace, security, and stability.

 The SRSG also briefed COMKFOR on UNMIK’s key priorities, particularly its trust-building initiatives, with a focus on communities, promoting human rights and strengthening the rule of law.
