SRSG Zahir Tanin met Nils Muižnieks, the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, at UNMIK on 6 February, 2017.  On his first visit to Kosovo, Commissioner Muižnieks and SRSG Tanin discussed a variety of issues including societal reconciliation, dealing with the past, missing persons, and media freedom.  Commissioner Muižnieks was elected by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and took up his position in 2012.
