Today’s developments in Kosovo are unacceptable. I call on Belgrade and Pristina authorities to act with good will, to avoid provocation and to take the steps necessary to maintain peace and human security.
16 March 2018 - Having been informed on the plans to amend the Criminal Code of Kosovo, members of the Security and Gender Group (SGG), as of October 2017, were engaged in preparing and submitting comments and recommendations for amendments to the Criminal Code.
On 14 March, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, visited Kamenica Municipality and met with Mayor Qendron Kastrati.
On 7 March 2018, the eve of International Women’s Day, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, opened the event, “Role(s) of Women in Society”, a first of its kind initiative hosted by the women’s caucus in Zvečan/Zveçan municipality.

Pristina, 6 March 2018 – The 2018 United Nations Global Open Day on Women, Peace and Security was celebrated in Kosovo on 5 March, bringing together Kosovo parliamentarians, politicians, government officials, civil society, activists, and representatives of the international community.
A new phase of engagement by the European Union in the Western Balkans was heralded by the head of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, during his address to Security Council members today.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, met with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, on 2 February 2018. The meeting took place in advance of the Security Council session on Kosovo scheduled for 7 February.
