SRSG TANIN MEETS SERBIAN PRESIDENT AND FIRST DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER / FOREIGN MINISTER

On 9 August, Special Representative to the Secretary-General Zahir Tanin met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, and subsequently with Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, as part of regular consultations ahead of the Security Council meeting on Kosovo scheduled for 16 August.

During the meetings SRSG Tanin and his interlocutors reviewed current political and security situation and agreed on the importance of UNMIK’s contribution to the maintenance of stability and supporting the continuing EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. They also discussed the Serbian President's important initiative for internal dialogue on Kosovo.
